Caproni (Pietro) is born in Tuscany, Italy.

Pietro Caproni emigrates to Boston in approximately 1879, and , lives initially at 212 Friend Street, and works as an apprentice to sculptor Paul Garey. Caproni and his brother buy out Garey’s business in 1892.* Caproni becomes one of the finest craftsmen in his field and one of the last artisans allowed to make molds directly from original statues at the British Museum and the Louvre. He dies in 1928 and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
